The Shining Poster
Movie Poster, designed in 1980
Saul Bass is no stranger to working with film directors. His clients include
Hitchcock, Kubrick, Scorsese, among many others. Perhaps his most well known
film poster, Saul Bass famously had to deal with Kubrick's constant changes and
requests to the poster. As a true auteur, Kubrick made sure to push back against
all of Bass' drafts.

The Man With
The Golden Arm
Movie Poster, designed in 1980
Although Bass' title sequence for this movie is perhaps more well known than
the poster, this is just one example of Bass' strong use of symbolism, bright colors,
and composition that make up his iconic style.

Anatomy Of A Murder
Movie Poster, designed in 1955
Adding to his impressive client list, Bass eventually became a frequent collaborator
of Otto Preminger, a popular director during the 50's and 60's. This specific poster
recieved acclaim from many as Bass' visuals both play on the meaning of the title
and the moral grayness seen in this courtroom-focused drama.

Schindler's List
Movie Poster, designed in 1993
A bittersweet moment in Bass' life, this artwork was the last comissioned poster
of his design career. Although the poster was never officially distributed, it still marks
5 decades worth of poster work and marks the end of one of the most influential
styles of the 20th and 21st century.
