Hi Ashley,
I really like your designs...
I think concept 1 is more interesting for the artist website.
Love the whole background picture.
You feel like your in the gallery watching him paint.
The font is very fun and I like the script paintbrush look.
I would add a body container frame to the gallery page as it would go with a gallery setting.
I would also increase everything inside it to make the negative space less dominate.

You used images effectively, and the design is very clean and organized.
Also, I like the enter page. It's nice idea.
