Site Needs & Goals

Five ‘P’s, Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance

Project Summary

State general project information and goals for the site design. This should be an overview of the project as a whole.

1. What is the basic overview of the project?

My

2. What is the single purpose of the site?

The purpose of this site is to promote Buzzy bees products and subscription.

3. What are the secondary goals of the site?

The secondary goal is to prevent the extinction of bees through the products, subscriptions and donation options.

 Audience Profile

Profile the target audience. Provide enough detail to enhance everyone’s understanding of who the audience is. Include some user demographic information.

1. Who is your target audience? Choose a typical user (attributes to tinclude are occupation, age range, gender, Internet connection, online frequency/activities, etc.).

My target audience are people of mostly middle class income, who are environmentally conscious and are mostly women between the ages of 15-50.

2. What is a typical task the user might perform on the site? (register, log on, search for information, buy a specific product, send their e-mail address, call for more information, etc.)

On my site the typical user will donate, subscribe to our subscription box or buy the products of Buzzy Bee.

3. What do you want them to think, feel and do while visiting your site?

I want the user to feel some urgency in regards to the endangered status of the bees so that they are more inclined to purchase the merchandise and support the cause. I also want the user to feel hopeful and energetic.

 4. What adjectives can be used to describe the way the website should be perceived by the target audience?

The website should primarily show off the merchandise and entice the users to buy them.

Communication Strategy or How will you convince the target audience?

 1. What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience? (informative, secure, reliable, efficient, entertaining, etc.)

The company is an environmentally conscious, family friendly business whose primary goal is saving the bees.

 2. How will you convey the overall message? (For example, through the content, design and aesthetics, navigation, page weight, etc.)

The overall content, design and merchandise will be bee oriented  including the branding.

 3. What are some specific visual goals the site should convey?

Bees, honey, honey combs

 4. How will you measure the success of the site?

I would measure the success of the site based on the amount of daily, weekly and monthly revenue it brings in.

Competitive Positioning or How the website will differ from the competition and the factors that will make it a success. (Specify name and url of at least 2 competitor sites you compared.)

1. Who is the competition?

The primary competition is theIt’s All About Bees! company.  https://www.itsallaboutbees.com/collections/bee-merchandise

The secondary competition is the Endangered Species Chocolate company.

https://www.chocolatebar.com/

 2. How will this website be different from the competition?

Buzzy bee website is product oriented and follows a more modern but normal website format. Although both the other websites copyright was updated this year, in many ways it looks like the websites are either playing it too safe or experimenting too much. My website will primarily be image dependent for Buzzy Bee is about supporting Bee through the sale of the products.

3. What specifically does the competition do/use that your site will incoporate?

The chocolate company utilizes call to action buttons on their homepage to get the attention of their visitors and entice them to buy and support the products and cause. To be honest there is not a single thing from the all about bees website i want to use, but perhaps i should consider its simplicity in toning down my overall design.

4. If redesigning a site, what areas of the current site are successful and why?

n/a
